Epsilon Lambda Chapter - Associates

Section 1 - Rush

Section 2 - FAQ

The Rush period for Epsilon Lambda Chapter is as follows:

  • - The Epsilon Lambda Chapter uses a 2 bid system, and works like this:
    • - the 1st bid: "a handshake between friends"; The brothers have seen that you have showed an interest, and we are doing likewise. Nothing is concrete, but if you like, still show interest!
    • - the 2nd bid: "the look of a brother"; The brothers have chosen you to start the process of becoming a Phi Sig. Rush Starts... Welcome Associate!
  • - Rush Process typically lasts between 6 - 8 weeks. During those weeks, the following events will occur:
    • - "Perspectives" become Associates;
    • - Big Brothers; Each Associate will be given to an Active Brother to become his "little brother". Other than the President and Inductor, your Big Brother is your "goto guy". He will help you with whatever problems you may have. Big or small.
    • - New Member Education begins; These days, depending on semester, only happen 1 (one) day a week, usually on Sunday. The Associate Class will be instructed on the history of the Chapter on a national and local level. Also at this point, Associate Class Executive Board (E-Board) Members will be nominated and elected. Those positions usually consist of: President, Secretary and Philanthropy/Fundraising Chair.
    • - Final Week: This is it, the home stretch. During this week the Associate Class will move into the Chapter House and begin daily study sessions to prepare for the Final Entrance Exam and Initiation Day. But don't worry; you will still have to attend class and go to work...
      • - The Final Exam consists of questions ranging from multiple choice to true and false and also essay questions. The Final exam is not specific to our chapter; it's also given out at a national level.
  • - After Initiation, New Members are on a 90 Day Probation.
    • - New Members are not allowed to have a vote during Chapter Meetings and not allowed to run for Chapter Elected Offices (i.e.: President, Vice President, Inductor).
    • - This process is so that all New Members can learn the ropes and get a feel for the business of a Fraternity.
