Epsilon Lambda Chapter - Associates
Section 1 - RUSH
Section 2 - FAQ
How much will this cost me?
- Epsilon Lambda has yearly dues totaling $700. Payments start in May and end in December. Monthly payments are $87.50.
- Associates, however, have a different price breakdown, but only during their Rush Process. That breaks down like this:
- Association into Fraternity (Start of Rush Process): $100; That cost covers literature and materials ordered from the Grand Chapter. The likes of which include, "Associate" Pin and "Hills and a Star" New Member Book.
- Initiation into Fraternity: $300; That cost covers fees due to the Grand Chapter, and your Lettered Pin.
- All dues collected (from Active Brothers) are due on the first day of Class of each Semester (excluding Spring/Summer). All dues collected (from Associating Brothers) are due on 2 specific days. As each rush period is different with starting and ending times, those days will be determined by the Executive Board of the Chapter.
- Depends. The dues collected will cover all costs in accordance with the Grand Chapter, our Insurance Company, and Composite Service (group pictures). Whatever is left over goes towards miscellaneous events, such as: Paintball, Bowling, Formals, etc. However, some events are typed as, "Out of Pocket" expenses. These range from Camping Retreats, Movie Nights (Theatre's), Road Trips to other Chapters of Phi Sigma Kappa.
- Also, Epsilon Lambda does fundraisers at least once a month. We work at Cedar Point, usually, during the Fall Semester, sell Pizza Kits, sell candles from Yankee Candle (TM) and numerous other fundraising spots. We try to raise as much money as we can in order to keep the "out of pocket" expenses down to a minimum. But don't worry... We gets deals on just about anything!
NO!
- Epsilon Lambda firmly believes against Hazing. The list of what is considered "hazing" is way to long to list here, and we promise up and down that we do not. So, during the rush process, if you feel at all uncomfortable for whatever reason, we encourage new associates to speak up to your Big Brother, Inductor, and/or the President and voice your concerns. We will listen.
- Again, Phi Sigma Kappa Epsilon Lambda...
DOES NOT HAZE!
- Associates are required to maintain a 2.4 or higher GPA during their Rush Period. Grade Sheets are required on a weekly basis. These must also contain a Professor Signature. Please also note, all active members of Epsilon Lambda must keep a 2.4 GPA, or higher, in order to be full active status.
- It is obviously against our rules to forge, or otherwise doctor these sheets. Once associated with Epsilon Lambda, and proper association forms filled out, your current grade standing can be acquired from EMU.
